FAQ
What are the eligibility requirements for Macau economic housing?
Economic housing applicants must meet conditions on age, years of residence in Macau, income cap, and asset cap; allocation is by point-scoring.
Macau economic housing is administered by the Housing Bureau (Instituto de Habitação). To qualify, applicants must: be at least 18, be a Macau resident, have resided in Macau for at least 7 years (with limited exceptions), own no more than one residential property in Macau, and stay within income and net-asset caps that are adjusted periodically. Allocation is point-based, taking into account household composition, age, years of residence, and time on the waiting list. Each year the Housing Bureau opens a new application round — check www.ihm.gov.mo for the current requirements and dates.
